Mechnical Engineer

(Design & Automation)

The Mechnical Engineering Division of the Company is presently in search of a young, dynamic and highly motivated individual for the design & implementation of engineering solutions/ systems for actual industrieal needs preferably below the age of 35 years with innovative ideas who can think “Out of the Box” and give electro-mechanical solutions to customer requirements. The ideal Candidates must have an excellent back ground in Mechanical Engineering with a good Electrical & Electronic knowledge. Candidates who has studied in the or has exposure to MECHATRONICSis preferred.

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • B.Sc (Eng.), NDT, NDES, HNDE, City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD Software (AutoCad, Solidworks).
  • Experienced in Pneumatic/ Hydraulic/ Electronic PLC based control system design and trouble shooting.
  • Able to design & implement Automation Systems.
  • Must be familiar with MS Office Packages.
  • Must be exposure to CAM Software and CNC Machining.
  • Any or all of the following will be added advantage(s) when considering:
    • Experienced in MICRO Controller Based Control System design and trouble shooting
    • Good communication and presentation skills in English
    • Computer Hardware and Networking skills
    • 2 to 3 years of Work experience preferred, though ‘Fresh Graduates’ are considered.

Workshop Engineer

We are in search of a highly motivated and dynamic individual for the above position. The individual should be well versed to running a fully fledged workshop with Lathe, Horizontal & Vertical Boring, Milling, Hobbing, Planning, Shaping, Welding, Grinding Machinery etc., with good communication skills in English, experience in Administration will be an added advantage:

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • B.Sc (Eng.) or NDT in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must have a minimum of 7 ½ - 10 years experience in managing a mechanical engineering workshop.
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • He will be overall in-change of workshop.
  • Must have the ability to give an estimate according to the job.
  • Computer literary will be an added advantage.
  • Experience or knowledge in production engineering, foundry operations/ practice will be an added advantage..

General Manager

As the next phase in our development program, we are in search of an individual for the position of General Manager/ Chief Operating Officer Designate to manage the organization’s ongoing operations and adherence to systems and procedures. The selected candidate will be reporting to the Managing Director (MD) and will function as the deputy to the MD with responsibility for the efficiency of business operations and practices. The GM will be a key member of the senior management team. We expect the GM to be an experienced and effective leader with excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics coupled with high integrity.


Responsibilities:
  • Achieve goals for performance and growth.
  • Restructuring of operation & manufacturing.
  • Ensure that employees adhere to the corporate policies and guidelines whilst living the values.
  • Manage business operations under the direction of the Managing Director.
  • Provide leadership to the team for optimum performance and commitment
  • Constantly evaluate systems, processes and procedures to enable customer satisfaction and providing speedy solutions to customers ensuring that customer jobs are carried out in the estimated or promised time frame.
  • Develop the monthly executive summary.
  • New Business – a person who had been personally involved in development in the growth of business in his previous employment.

Education & Experience:
  • Degree from a recognized University in Sri Lanka or abroad in Business Administration or Commerce and/or equivalent professional qualifications on either Marketing, Finance OR Human Resources. A degree in Masters will be a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years in relevant work experience at senior management level with significant national and or international organizations, preferably in industrial or manufacturing industries.
  • Competence in operational management (manufacturing).
  • Knowledge in MS office packages, email, etc.,

Age band at time of applying & attributes:
  • Minimum age limit – 50 years is preferred – looking for a matured person with long history of management.
  • Outstanding organizational, leadership, interpersonal, public speaking, decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English in addition to the mother tongue.
